Reservoir Magazine Update

CSPG is excited to announce the evolution of its Reservoir magazine from a printed publication to a digital one. Although still at its infancy, the Reservoir magazine is set to provide our members with a variety of technical, industry-focused and social articles. Digitizing the magazine allows our members to read it anywhere, on their phone, tablet or laptop.

Reservoir Magazine Editor Needed
The Reservoir Magazine is looking for a new Editor. See below the qualifications we are looking for in a new Editor:

The Reservoir Editor (“Editor”) searches for and encourages potential contributors to report on their geological observations and findings.  Professional advice on presentation of results is an important obligation of the Editor, particularly regarding the geoethics expressed in the article.
The Editor must read the first draft of the article and suggest improvements to make it more accessible to the readership. The Reservoir is an informal publication and while good publication practices must be observed, it does not require adherence to a particular style manual.  Instead, it publishes a set of format specifications to simplify the processing of manuscripts.
The Editor must be aware of the CSPG publication policy with respect to the content and the format of the finished copy. If there is a competition for space within a given edition, a formal assessment of the manuscript against the scientific method, CSPG policies and importance of the information will be required to select the best manuscript for publication.
The Editor chairs the Reservoir team, which should include expertise on the proper use of technical English, particularly when the original manuscript is in a language different from English. The Team also requires internet publication technology advice.
When a rush version of the Reservoir is available, the Editor proofreads the articles to ensure that no serious misspellings or transcription errors remain in the final manuscript.

Please submit them as attachments instead of in the body of the email.

The Reservoir maintains high editorial standards. Articles should be written for the interest and benefit of Reservoir readers, which includes the entire CSPG membership and is made up geoscientists, managers, executives, consultants, and academia. Articles should not be written to promote a particular product or company.

CSPG does not accept articles that have been printed in other publications/websites or that have been simultaneously submitted to other publications/websites for review. It is understood that the article submitted is the author’s original work and contains no plagiarism or copyright violations.

CSPG reserves the right to edit submitted articles; however, authors will be notified if significant editing changes are needed. Every attempt is made to preserve the integrity and voice of the original work.

All submissions will be reviewed by the technical editors, who reserve the right to choose not to print any submission.

CSPG is eager to publish a diverse range of articles, abstracts and photos, and are particularly looking for new series.

There are no absolute limits on length of articles.
