Volunteer Committee Descriptions
Awards Committee
The CSPG Awards Committee oversees all awards in the CSPG, including Volunteer, Service and Tracks Awards, as well as the Major Recognition Awards (Stanley Slipper Award, RJW Douglas Medal, Medal of Merit, President's Award and Honourary Membership). It is generally comprised of three members: the Past Awards Chair, the Awards Chair and the Volunteer, Service and Tracks Awards Coordinator. These positions have no set tenure, and any two committee members can cover all three roles.
The Awards Committee is responsible for ensuring the recognition of those who have provided outstanding service to the Society. It does this by:
- Overseeing all CSPG sponsored awards and recognition;
- managing the nomination process and vetting all Volunteer, Tracks and Service Awards;
- liaising between the Executive and committee chairs; and
- Encouraging nominations for awards, and ensuring that all nominations are put forward in a timely manner.
