Reservoir Submissions

Submitting your article to the Reservoir

The Reservoir is published monthly by the CSPG and includes information on Society events and news, as well as technical articles on a wide variety of geoscience topics. It is published eleven times per year, with the July/August issue being a joint issue. The Reservoir welcomes the submission of articles from both our membership and the industry at large. Please note that due to our short production schedule we are not a peer-reviewed publication.

Technical article size should be 1-4 pages in length including text and illustrations. (Approximately 1,500 words total.) If the subject warrants it, an article could be longer and be continued over several issues. Text should be Arial, 10 pt text and Microsoft Word files are preferred. Illustrations are encouraged and should be submitted as 300 dpi tiffs at 100% of the size intended for printing.

If you are interested in submitting an article we ask that you email a brief synopsis, with your contact information, to reception@cspg.org. We will then be in touch with instructions on how to submit your full article and graphics/photos, as well as our intended date of publication. Any questions can also be directed to reception@cspg.org.

General Submission Guidelines - CSPG Committees

Submissions are to be sent in electronic form (Microsoft Word is preferred, Arial font, 10 pt text) via email to reception@cspg.org. Submissions are due the 23rd of the month, two months prior to issue date.

Please entitle your email "Reservoir Submission". Please send submissions as attachments and not in the body of the email. Photos and graphics are welcome (tiff images at 300 dpi, final size only) and will be included if space allows. (Any photos or graphics not used will be included on the CSPG website www.cspg.org) Please follow the guidelines below for submission length. Any submissions over these limits will be returned to the sender for further editing. You are more than welcome to submit longer versions for posting on the CSPG website.

Executive Comment - 800 words
Technical Luncheon Abstracts - 500 words (Please follow the format currently used in the Reservoir)
Division Abstracts - 400 words (Please follow the format currently used in the Reservoir)
Committee Announcements - 400 words

Photos/Graphics - TIFF files at 300 dpi
